Risk II is an electronic version of the classic board game, conversion made by Deep Red Games. It was originally published by Hasbro Interactive. However, due to the game's age and to the fact that the company went under, Risk came to the hands of several publishers, most prominently of Iwin.com, that also holds the original Risk in its list of published games.
This game is a sequel to a PC game of the same name. The first one was an incarnation of the board game too, and this second version is an improvement of the board game and the first all-PC game. The game has two modes, Classic Risk and Same Time Risk. In Same Time Risk, troop placement is done simultaneously rather than by turns. The game also includes modifications in the combat system, which has become more fair and intense. Once you get into battle, you will zoom into a view of the areas invaded, and will see a series of combat animations depending on the dice you are rolling. The game basically is the best way to play Risk on the PC. It has superb AI opponents and also multi-player support. Some Risk purists might not like the modifications, but most will enjoy playing this game.
